General Information
Symbol: A copper snake with silver eyes sitting on a black field.

Founded in 2463 of the Steward's Reckoning by a simple soldier known as Amelander Daerland, this newly formed unit of mercenaries is available for hire by any with the coin and inclination. The members make a living by numerous amounts of ways, which can be acting as guard to various patrons and merchants around Osgiliath, or for those who have proven themselves even protecting the more powerful and rich around the city. Other than acting as bodyguards, you may be asked to be involved with escorting caravans and carts across dangerous roads, defending customers with your life if need be. There will be many other duties that will occupy your time, cleaning of the unit's compound, hunting game to provide food for the other mercenary's, training, and even hunting down wanted criminals that have a bounty on their head, from lesser people to the more dangerous.

What is asked of you is that you complete the tasks assigned to you with as much effort as possible and that you train your skills and keep yourself in top condition at all times. You must follow the rules set down by the unit and be able to handle yourself in combat. Those who pay for our services need to be getting what they paid for, so training is important. When joining up as a member one must stay for a minimum of one year, after this time it is up to you if you wish to stay on. Lastly, a once off joining fee of one hundred copper coins is requested, to cover equipment costs, and when one's term is up, a small reimbursement of usually around twenty copper is recieved for returning the clan's equipment.

Patience is very important, as work can sometimes be very scare. Being a mercenary means that your character will most likely not become rich, it can rely on the other players to provide jobs, but if your interested in this type of role, it can be quite entertaining. One should tend to think why you wish to live a life of irregular pay, danger and hard times.

The Serpents are formed into a half arse military unit lead by the Captain, which not much is known about. He is a decent fighter, but generally has his under ranks doing most of the jobs. Under the Captain are the Sergeants, members who have proven their skill repeatedly, and are in charge of training, individual discipline and leading squadrons of men. Most of the unit however is formed up of privates, who are considered full members and are permitted to always be on the lookout for contracts. New members are classed as recruits, and until they are fully trained are not considered full members, and cannot acquire contracts.

Pay is on a job by job basis. Should the unit accept a contract and you participate, you will get a share that depends on the individual contract. Larger contracts mean larger bonuses for you, however. Only sergeants and the captain have the authority to acquire contracts.
